The Partner is a Citroën Berlingo

The 2008–2018 Partner and the Citroën Berlingo of the same period are the same van built on the same PSA platform, with fully interchangeable glass.

That doubles your options when shopping for a vehicle and when looking for parts or conversion advice. The Berlingo tends to have slightly more of a following among micro camper builders, so search that name too when you're planning your layout.

A realistic view of converting one

Worth being straight about what this van is. It's small. You'll have sitting headroom at best, a bed that runs across the van (fine if you're under about 5'10", awkward if you're not), and limited storage. It is a weekender and a festival van, not somewhere to spend a winter.

Within those limits it's excellent. Running costs are trivial, it parks anywhere, it doesn't look like a camper, and if you decide van life isn't for you, you've spent very little finding out.

Glazing it

With limited wall space, most Partner builds fit one window each side at the front and leave the rear panels solid for units and insulation.

Choose opening glass if you'll sleep in it regularly — the small interior volume means condensation builds fast overnight, and being able to crack a window makes a genuine difference to how the van feels in the morning. Fixed glass insulates better and is simpler to fit if the van is more of a day van.

Privacy tint keeps the interior out of sight, which matters when a van this size is often parked on ordinary residential streets.

Fitting

Bonded glazing with polyurethane adhesive: mark, cut, dress and prime the raw edge, bond, cure.

The panes are small and light and this is a genuinely achievable first-time glass fit. Do take corrosion seriously though — these vans are now 7–17 years old and small vans of this era are prone to rust around the lower panels. Check the metal before cutting and prime the edge properly.
