Check your length before ordering

The Expert comes in Compact, Standard and Long, and the front side aperture differs between the medium and extra-long versions. This is the single most common ordering error on this model.

Measure your van or check the V5C. If you're at all unsure, send us the registration number and we'll confirm which glass fits — it takes a couple of minutes and saves cutting an aperture that the glass won't fill.

Expert, Dispatch, ProAce and Vivaro

From 2016 this van has been sold as the Peugeot Expert, Citroën Dispatch and Toyota ProAce, with the Vauxhall Vivaro joining the same platform from 2019. All four share glass.

Worth knowing when you're buying: used prices vary meaningfully between the badges for what is mechanically and structurally the same vehicle. And when you're researching conversions, all four communities' build advice applies to your van.

Planning the conversion

The low roof is the Expert's defining feature and it shapes the build. You get sitting height, not standing — so most conversions are designed around a bed platform with storage beneath, and a kitchen you use from a seated or crouched position, or one that slides out of the back doors.

For glazing, that means window height matters. Fit the floor and bed platform first if you can, then mark the aperture against where you'll actually be sitting. A window positioned for a standing occupant is wasted in a van like this.

The usual layout: opening glass on the nearside front, fixed opposite, rear side glass for light over the bed, and barn door glass for visibility and openness.

Fitting

Bonded glazing with polyurethane adhesive: cut, dress and prime the raw edge, bond, cure. The Expert's panels are flat with clear pressed guidelines, making it a relatively forgiving van to glaze.

Delivery

Order before 3pm Monday to Thursday for next working day UK mainland delivery, in packaging built for vehicle glass, with immediate replacement of breakages.
