Why the shape matters for a conversion

It's worth dwelling on this because it's the NV200's real advantage. The near-vertical side walls mean units sit flush, a bed platform spans properly without awkward packers, and you don't lose the top corners of the load space to curvature the way you do in most small vans.

For glazing, that flat panel also makes for a straightforward, low-stress window fit — the aperture is a simple shape on a flat surface, which is about as friendly as van glazing gets.

Fixed or opening?

In a van this size, ventilation is the priority. A small sealed space with two people sleeping in it produces a remarkable amount of condensation overnight, and by morning you'll have water running down the inside of the panels if there's nowhere for it to go.

Most NV200 builds fit at least one opening pane, usually on the nearside where cooking happens. If you're pairing the windows with a roof vent, fixed glass on the offside is fine and gives you better insulation.

Privacy tint is the sensible default — a micro camper's appeal is that it parks anywhere without attracting attention, and dark glass keeps the build out of sight.

The NV200 and Evalia

The NV200 is sold in panel van form and as the Evalia passenger version, which has factory glass in some positions. The apertures match, so if you're converting an Evalia or replacing damaged glass on one, the panes here will fit.

The same vehicle has also been sold under other badges in various markets over the years, so if you're researching conversions internationally, it's worth widening your search.

Fitting

Bonded glazing with polyurethane adhesive: mark and cut the aperture, dress and prime the raw edge to prevent corrosion, bond, and allow to cure fully before driving.

The panes are small and light and the panel is flat, making this one of the more manageable DIY glass fits. Mark out carefully — small apertures leave less room for a wandering cut.
