Why payload matters when you're glazing
This is a point specific to big vans and worth making here. Glass is heavy. A full set of panes across a large van adds meaningful weight, and on most panel vans that eats into a payload you also need for water, leisure batteries, insulation, furniture and everything you'll carry.
The Daily's chassis construction and higher gross weight ratings mean this is far less of a concern. If your build is ambitious — a fixed bathroom, a big water tank, a substantial battery bank — the Daily gives you headroom that a Ducato or Transit simply doesn't.
It's also worth checking your licence category. Some Daily variants exceed 3,500kg, which affects who can legally drive them and how the vehicle is taxed and tested. Confirm the plated weight before you buy.
Glazing a Daily conversion
Most Daily builds fit front side glass first — an opening pane on the nearside for ventilation, fixed on the offside — and then decide on further glazing once the interior layout is settled.
Because the Daily is tall, window height relative to your finished floor and furniture matters. Build the floor first if you can, then mark your glass position against where you'll actually be sitting. It's easy to cut an aperture that ends up too low to see out of comfortably once the bed platform is in.
Privacy tint is the standard choice: it keeps a large, conspicuous van's interior out of sight and cuts solar gain, which matters on a van with this much surface area.
Fitting
Bonded glazing with polyurethane adhesive. Mark and cut the aperture, dress and prime the raw edge to prevent corrosion, bond and cure.
The Daily's panels are large and flat, which makes marking out straightforward, but the van's height means you'll want decent access — working off a proper platform rather than reaching up from the ground makes a significant difference to the quality of the cut.

Will this fit the older Iveco Daily?
No — we list glass for the pre-2014 Daily separately. Check your year before ordering.
Is the Daily too big for a self-build?
It's a large van, but if you're building something substantial the payload and chassis strength are real advantages. Check the plated weight and your licence category.
Do you stock rear glass for the Daily?
We hold front side glass for this model. Contact us with your registration for other positions and we'll check availability.
Can I fit windows to a Luton or box body Daily?
The glass here fits the panel van body. Box and Luton bodies are separate structures — send us details and we'll advise.
