Three panes down each side

The full-size Transit is long enough that a full conversion often glazes three positions per side — front, centre and rear. This is a meaningful difference from smaller vans and worth planning properly.

A common layout: opening glass at the front (ventilation over the kitchen), fixed centre glass for light through the middle of the van, and rear glass over the bed. You don't have to glaze all three — many builders skip the centre pane to preserve wall space for cabinetry — but the option is there, and a fully glazed Transit is a remarkably bright space.

MWB or LWB?

Rear glass is wheelbase-specific. The Transit is sold in several lengths, and the rear quarter panel differs between medium and long wheelbase versions. Front and centre glass is more forgiving.

Twin side-load doors

If your Transit has sliding doors on both sides, the offside front panel is a different shape and takes a specific pane. We list it separately. Check your van — this is an easy detail to overlook.

Privacy or green?

Privacy for campers: dark, private, cuts solar gain. Green for crew vans, minibus conversions and day vans where light and visibility matter more than seclusion. The full-size Transit is frequently converted to crew or welfare vans, which is why we stock both tints across most positions.

Fitting

Bonded glazing throughout, using polyurethane adhesive for a flush, weathertight, factory-quality finish. Cut the aperture, dress and prime the edge against corrosion, bond and cure.

The Transit's panels are large — the LWB rear panes in particular are heavy and awkward. Don't attempt those single-handed; getting a big pane square in wet adhesive on your own is how mistakes happen.

Delivery

Order before 3pm Monday to Thursday for next working day delivery to the UK mainland, in purpose-built glass packaging, with immediate replacement of breakages.
