Wheelbases explained
This generation runs from a compact SWB up to the very long Jumbo, and the glass differs significantly between them. The Jumbo in particular has an extra panel section behind the rear axle — that's what the "very rear side panel" glass is for, and it's a pane that doesn't exist on shorter vans.
Identify your wheelbase before ordering. It's on the V5C, and the difference is obvious once you know what you're looking at — count the panels between the sliding door and the rear arch. If you're not sure, send us the registration.
Privacy or green?
We stock both across most positions on this generation, which reflects how these vans get used. Privacy for campers — dark, secluded, cooler in summer. Green for crew vans, welfare vans and day vans, and it's also closer to what these vans wore from the factory in window form, so it suits an original-look restoration.
Fitting
Bonded glazing with polyurethane adhesive. Cut, dress and prime the aperture edge, bond, cure.
Older Transits sometimes have slightly less consistent panel work than modern vans, particularly if they've had a hard commercial life or previous repairs. Offer the glass up dry and check the fit before you commit adhesive.
Bonding kits, primer and trim are available alongside the glass, and Trade Windscreens in Carlisle can fit it for you.
Delivery
Order before 3pm Monday to Thursday for next working day UK mainland delivery. Glass ships in purpose-built protective packaging and breakages are replaced immediately.
Frequently asked questions
Which MK is my Transit?
The 2000–2006 van is the MK6, the 2006–2013 facelift is the MK7. Both share most glass. Send us your registration if you need it confirmed.
What is Jumbo glass?
The Jumbo is the longest Transit, with an extra rear side panel section. It takes specific "very rear side panel" glass that shorter vans don't have.
Will 2000–2013 glass fit the 2014-onwards Transit?
No. The 2014 model is a complete redesign. Order from the correct generation.
How quickly can I get campervan windows delivered?
Order before 3pm Monday to Thursday for next working day delivery to UK mainland addresses.
Can I fit campervan windows myself?
Yes, with care. It's cutting and bonding rather than anything mechanical. Mark out carefully, prime the cut edge to prevent rust, and let the adhesive cure fully before driving.
What's the difference between fixed and opening campervan windows?
Fixed panes are sealed — better insulated with nothing to leak. Opening panes hinge out for ventilation. Most conversions fit at least one opening window to manage overnight condensation.
