The fly screen windows are worth a look

This is the standout option on the new Custom and it isn't available on most vans. These are opening panes with an integrated fly screen, meaning you can leave the window open overnight for airflow without inviting in every midge in the campsite.

Anyone who has converted a van and then spent a summer night choosing between suffocating and being eaten alive will understand why this matters. If you're building a Custom for genuine touring use, budget for these rather than standard opening glass.

Twin sliding doors and fixed panels

The new Custom is available with a single sliding door, twin sliding doors, or a fixed offside panel — and the glass differs between them. We list separate panes for each configuration.

Check your van's door arrangement before ordering. A twin-sliding-door van has a different offside panel shape entirely, and standard glass won't fit.

Converting the new Custom

The 2024 Custom is a better van to convert than its predecessor — more interior width, a lower load floor and better-shaped panels. The glazing logic is the same: opening glass (ideally with fly screen) on the side you'll cook, fixed opposite, rear side glass for light over the bed, and rear door glass for visibility.

Privacy tint throughout is the standard camper choice, and the new Custom's styling suits dark glass particularly well.

Fitting

Bonded glazing with polyurethane adhesive, as per factory. Cut, dress and prime the aperture edge, bond, cure.

One point specific to the new model: because it's recent, take extra care confirming aperture dimensions against your actual van before cutting. Ford has produced several body variants and we'd always rather answer a question first than replace glass afterwards. Send us your registration if there's any doubt.

Delivery

Order before 3pm Monday to Thursday for next working day UK mainland delivery, in packaging built for vehicle glass, with immediate replacement of any breakage.
