Understanding L1, L2, L3 and L4

The Relay is sold in four lengths, and the glass differs between them. L1 is the short wheelbase, L2 medium, L3 long and L4 extra-long. Some panes fit multiple lengths (you'll see LWB glass listed as fitting L2/L3/L4), others are length-specific.

Before ordering, identify your van's length — it's on the V5C, and the model designation is usually on the rear door badge. Get this wrong and you'll have cut an aperture the glass won't fill. If you're at all unsure, send us your registration and we'll confirm.

Privacy or green tint?

The Relay is one of the few vans where we stock both, so it's worth explaining the difference.

Privacy glass is dark — the interior isn't visible from outside in normal daylight, and it cuts solar gain significantly. It's the standard choice for campervans, where you're often parked in public and want to be able to leave the van without displaying its contents.

Green glass is lightly tinted, closer to standard automotive window glass. It lets far more light through, which suits day vans, crew vans and conversions where the glazed area is a living space you want bright rather than private.

For a camper you'll almost certainly want privacy. For a van that doubles as a work vehicle with a crew area, green is often the better call.

Relay, Ducato and Boxer — one van, three badges

The Citroën Relay, Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer are the same vehicle built in the same Sevel factory. Glass is fully interchangeable across all three. If you're converting a Ducato-based motorhome, the panes listed here will fit — and given the Ducato is the single most common motorhome base vehicle in Europe, that covers an enormous number of vans.

Fitting

Everything is bonded glass, glued to the aperture with polyurethane adhesive for a flush, weathertight, factory-standard finish. Cut the aperture, dress and prime the edge against corrosion, bond and cure.

The Relay's panels are large, so an extra pair of hands helps when offering up the bigger rear panes — some of the L4 glass is heavy and awkward to hold square on your own. We supply bonding kits, primer and trim alongside the glass.

Delivery

Order before 3pm Monday to Thursday for next working day delivery to UK mainland addresses. All glass ships in packaging designed specifically for vehicle glazing, and we replace any breakage immediately.
