The rear door glass is worth calling out, because it's the option most people forget and then wish they'd fitted. Glazing the barn doors makes a small van feel dramatically less like a box, floods the sleeping area with light, and — practically — lets you see out of the back when reversing.

Which windows should you fit?

For a weekend camper, a single opening window on the sliding door side plus fixed glass opposite is the common setup. If you're building something you'll live in for longer stretches, glaze the rear doors too. In a van this size, light matters more than in a big panel van — the difference between one window and four is the difference between a van with a bed in it and something that feels like a small room.

Bear in mind that every window you add is heat lost in winter and heat gained in summer. Privacy tint helps considerably with the latter, and thermal blinds cover the former.

Fitting

All our Berlingo glass is bonded — glued into the aperture with polyurethane adhesive for a flush, waterproof, factory-look finish. You'll cut the aperture, prime the exposed edge against rust, then bond. It's within reach of a careful DIY builder, and we sell the bonding kits, primer and trims alongside the glass.

The barn door glass is the easier of the two jobs; the side panel takes more care because the aperture is larger and the panel is less rigid until the glass is in.

Delivery

Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Thursday go out for next working day delivery across the UK mainland. Glass ships in purpose-built protective packaging, and we replace breakages immediately rather than leaving you waiting.
