What makes it double glazed?

Unlike a conventional van window made from a single piece of toughened glass, this window is constructed from two panes of glass with a sealed air gap between them. Together they form one insulated double glazed unit – similar in principle to the double glazing in your home.

Why choose double glazing for your conversion?

• Better thermal insulation than standard single glazed van glass, helping to reduce heat loss in colder weather and heat transfer when the van is warm.
• Less condensation on the inside surface of the glass – particularly useful in campervans, where sleeping, cooking and everyday use create a lot of moisture.
• More comfortable living space – ideal for campervan conversions, motorhomes and any van where insulation and comfort are a priority.

Privacy and a factory finish

The dark privacy tint allows 20% visible light transmission and is stained into the glass during manufacture rather than applied as a film, so it will not peel, bubble or fade over time. It lets natural light into the living space while keeping prying eyes out, and reduces glare and solar heat inside the van.

A black ceramic frit border runs around the inside edge of the glass. It conceals the cut metal edge and bonding adhesive, protects the bond from UV exposure and retains the smart, OEM-style appearance of a conventional bonded van window once professionally bonded into place.

The fixed, non-opening design gives a permanent, flush finish on the barn door with no moving parts, while improving rear visibility for the driver.

Quality and road legality

Manufactured from high-quality toughened automotive safety glass, the window is E-marked to UN/ECE R43 standards, making it fully road legal throughout the UK and Europe.

Fitment

This window can be fitted to either the left or right side of the vehicle. Glass dimensions are approximately 828mm x 670mm. Please check your model year, wheelbase and door configuration carefully before ordering.
